ZenBusiness Renews at $199. Virginia Charges $0 to Replace It.

Every ZenBusiness number quoted below came off that company's own published pricing during a July 2026 check and has been reproduced without adjustment.

The Software Is Not the Complaint

Begin with what ZenBusiness does well, because pretending otherwise would waste your time. The platform is genuinely well built. Filings, deadlines and stored documents sit in one interface, the onboarding assumes you have never done any of this before, and somebody plainly cared about how the thing looks and behaves. An owner who wants a compliance workspace with an agent tucked inside it has a real reason to pay them money.

We do not compete on that ground and will not pretend to. What we sell is a Virginia street address, one invoice a year, and a portal holding your documents. If the dashboard is the product you actually want, buy the dashboard.

One Label, Two Prices

Bought alone, without a formation order attached to it anywhere, ZenBusiness starts the agent product at $99 and adds the state's own charges on top. From year two forward the bill reads $199. Both figures are public and neither is buried in fine print.

The question is which of the two you will spend most of your life paying. Virginia expects a named agent on the record throughout the whole life of the company on the Commission's books, which makes this a subscription, and a subscription is described honestly by its recurring number rather than its opening one. Nearly every year you own a Virginia LLC will be a $199 year.
